Technical officials

Becoming a Qualified Technical Official

Having qualified technical officials is vital to the strength and growth of our club. We appreciate all parents assisting with their time.

The different levels of technical officials are as follows (junior to senior):
• Timekeeper
• Inspector of turns (IOT)
• Judge of stroke (JOS)
• Starter
• Referee

It is our club’s objective and policy that each swimmer’s family will have a qualified technical official and that opportunities will be provided to increase the level of qualification.

As a club we must provide qualified technical officials to ensure that competitive swim meets satisfies the SNZ requirements.

The more parents we have qualified the more evenly volunteer roles can be shared out across the meets we attend.
