WHO RUNS TE ARAWA SWIMMING CLUB?

Te Arawa Swimming is run by a committee of parents/volunteers who meet regularly to help organize fundraising, sponsorship, grants, swim trips, and club nights. Our elected officials are also responsible for the administration and finances of the club.

Without these volunteers, the Club could not function. We hold our annual AGM in August of each year and new members with new ideas are always welcome. If you would like to help out at the club, but do not necessarily want to be a committee member, please contact our club administrator. Any help is gratefully received.

PARENT HELP

There is lots to learn about the sport of swimming, and we encourage you to get in touch with our club officials, and introduce yourself to other club members and parents. Swimming New Zealand has a website with a wealth of information, including a parent handbook, and calendar of events.

As a parent you will be requested to help out at meets, either as an official (time keeper), team manager or help with fundraising. We run club nights and hold officials trainings so that it is easy to learn how to become involved.

CLUB NIGHTS

As a new club we hope to run regular club nights and swim clinics at the Rotorua Aquatic Centre. Club Nights are a good way for new swimmers and parents to get the feel for competitions.

COMMUNICATION

You will receive regular emails and newsletters regarding all club info, fundraising, and targeted swim meets. We also update our Facebook page frequently.
